“Nice relaxing hotel”

Written on: 03/11/2013

The Makadi Spa nicely decorated, rooms lovely as are all the communal areas. On the whole the food was good, the Asian restaurant was our favourite, the quality of food and service was excellent. It's worth knowing that men are expected to where full shoes in the restaurants on an evening. We found the choice and quality of the lunch somewhat disappointing so we used to eat at the buffet or Italian at the sister hotel the Sunwing. Because guests at the Spa are able to use the restaurants at all the other hotels the A La Carte choice is really good. The hotel was very quiet so there was plenty of choice for sun beds etc. tapas restaurant is also good especially if you fancy a late night snack and a bit of a laugh as the assistant manager Ibrahim is very amusing.

Downsides: The pools were freezing, alcohol wasn't included in the main pool bar which was the best bar in the hotel, lunch menu disappointing, wouldn't recommend the massages.

All in all this is a great hotel and we found it to be very good value for money. It's worth taking plenty of £1 coins as they come in really handy for tips as it's difficult to get small Egyptian currency.
