“Clumber park hotel, Worksop October 2013”

written by Ingoldmells on 31/10/2013

My husband and I stayed at this hotel to relax from a stressful season. Relaxing was the correct description. Phone signal in the area was very bad (no fault of hotel) so phone wasn't ringing.. Stayed for 5 nights and on visit to look around spa was given very good information about facilities and was given robe n slippers for our stay. Spa reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of towels whenever you needed one. You could sit round pool all day and read or whatever you wanted, use the steam room and sauna or gym. Absolute bliss.. Spa staff were very professional during treatments.

Breakfast was excellent. Anyone complaining about the choice well .... On arrival we were asked if we would like tea or coffee and toast, brown or white. Then told to help ourselves to the buffet. Fruit juices, cereals, fresh fruit, croissants, meats, pastries. When tea and toast arrive you are then offered choice from menu of full english, eggs, kippers, haddock to name a few. The food was cooked to perfection and delicious. Staff were pleasant and efficient.

The reception staff were very helpful and always on hand. My husband a keen cyclist got wet to the skin on first trip out and we struggled to dry off his cycling clothes. We asked in reception if they had any facilities for drying and they said there was a tumble drier but it was broken. One of the girls offered to take his wet clothes home and put them in her own drier.
We did make suggestions to them about improvements for cyclists facilities and they wanted to listen to improve services.

The chambermaids were brilliant supplying us with tea and biscuits, very friendly and jolly.

The restaurant food was very nice but menu could be more traditional dishes, choice wasn't good enough when staying longer than couple of days.

Bar staff very nice. We chatted to them and they advised us of places to visit in the area.

We left very relaxed and actually enjoyed our holiday more than travelling abroad. If you have a problem or query, speak to the staff, the will do there best. Talk down to them or be rude and get the response you deserve.
