I purchased flights to Barcelona for my parents, wife and I for a 4 day trip.
Upon purchase, on the beach informed me that we could only take 5 kg hand luggage and if more was required it would have to be checked in to the hold.
1) We did not want the hassle of checking in with only 4 days worth of luggage.
2) Only the full party could check in not an individual. Apparently the rules of the operator Cosmos..... really? Cosmos and Monarch are the same company!
3) The tickets were marked as a chartered flight when in actual fact ZB pre fixed flights are regular scheduled flights.
As a regular business flyer (twice a month) I fly with Monarch often and know ZB flights are scheduled and permit hand luggage at 10 kg not 5kg as indicated on the on the beach tickets.
If I'd have been flustered and misdirected as most customers probably would in this situation, I would have been ripped off approximately £20 per person per trip. I.e £160 plus! Checking in our luggage.
We all turned up on the day with our 10kg and were accepted with a friendly smile at check..... NO 5KG restriction to be seen anywhere.
chartered flight.... Fabrication.
5 kg limit .... Fabrication.
Full party has to check in hold.... Yes Fabrication.
= a company not to be trusted!
Oh furthermore you cannot check in online but when you book direct with Monarch you can.
Fortunately i did not book accommodation.... Good knows how much it would of cost in hidden fabricated extras.
Of further interest I was asked by a website called feefo to provide feedback. They were sent the above report but have since removed it from their website. Makes you question if they are truly independent and indeed, who owns them? Maybe I should seek out the regulator?
