A group of 8 of us wanted to tour Sri Lanka and then have a few days on the beach. We agreed on an itinerary and then a number of us started looking for the best deal. Carlton Leisure (we dealt with Pasindu) came out best in terms of local knowledge, recommendations and overall service and price. One of the options offered was to swap the beach stay in SL to one in the Maldives. We had originally considered this but price had been an issue. However Carlton came up with a very attractive overall package.
Our holiday was excellent - the guide, driver and his assistant were all focussed on giving us a great customer experience and couldn't do enough for us. Carlton had sub-contracted the local SL travel to another company but this didn't affect the overall service. In fact, they'd arranged a photographer to take a group photo on our arrival and on our penultimate day in SL, the manager of that company came to meet us with gifts for all of us.
The only niggle we had was that we'd booked to do a safari at Yala National Park but were advised a few weeks before our holiday that it would be closed to tourists at the time of our visit. We were advised in SL that this was for maintenance purposes and took place every year at the same time.
