“Abysmal customer service ”

written by F.T.K on 25/10/2013

Abysmal customer service and try to shake off the sale of goods act, ie: fit for purpose, as described and last a reasonable length of time , I bought a big dog water fountain and never again, absolute rubbish and its only lasted 6 months so I tried for refund they refused they say my issue is with the manufacturer, I insisted they refused and passed me from pillar to post, I eventually got told to send it back they sent a courier whom picked it up then two days later a phone call stating they are not refunding me. ½ hour debate with an “advisor” whom sated they are not responsible, I stated sale of goods act, they still refuse, they print on their website” If I've had the product for more than 7 days I will be liable for the cost of returning the product back for inspection. Should the item be shown to not have any fault they will charge their costs for the postage and packing of your goods back to me. Should the item develop an inherent fault after 6 months and it does not come with a manufacturer warranty then it is for me the consumer to prove that the fault exhibited itself within the first 6 months. Sale of goods act clearly states “The shop may say you have to claim a refund from the manufacturer, or claim under the manufacturer's guarantee. This isn't true. Shoppers' rights under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (as amended) are against the retailer, not the manufacturer. Guarantees simply give additional rights which shoppers can choose to use”.
