Bought my Vity may this year, and in the summers exceesive heat, i was having trouble starting it after it had been running for half an hour. Took it to Paul Reeks Motorcycles in fulham who explained that due to additive changes in the fuel the fuel pump o ring wasnt doing its job. Yamaha are covering the cost of a new pump, I just had to pay for labour. This was excellent news as it costs about £300 for a new pump, and seeing as i only paid 700, it was alot of money. Yamaha are covering vitys upto 2008 apparently, maybe older if the mileage was low, mine was only on 3000. Since this glitch I have been using is nearly every day to travel the 32 mile round trip to work and back, and no issues other than my own negligence. I forgot to check the oil and didnt change it at the stated point, so it died on me halfway home after riding it for probably double the reccommended mileage per oil change. However i changed it, turned it over a few times and hey presto it was up and runngin again. Quality little machine and does all it needs and more. its got the power to squeeze through traffic moving too sedately, but is excellent for fuel economy, especially if you limit yourself to 55-60.
