We booked two different stays through Booking.com. Both bookings were made on a fairly short notice, The first about 20 hours before check-in, the second about 12 hours prior.
The problem is that Booking.com sends faxes to the hotel / motel rather than entering the reservation directly into the system as other online sites do. In the case of our second reservation, it took almost 20 minutes and a call by the motel clerk to Booking.com to get us into a room. It would have taken longer, but the clerk took our info, gave us a room, and then got the booking straightened out.
We are grateful to the clerk, but not to Booking.com. I don't think I will use this site again.
