It was the first time I used booking.com. I made a reservation for a hotel in Calisotga, CA, US. The reservation was confirmed by the booking.com. In an hour I received e-mail from the hotel that they cannot accommodate me because they do not have a room available for the date I made my reservation for. I called booking.com and told their representative about the situation. She was very nice and offered me to find another accommodation. Because of the inconvenience, she also offered to pay in full for my new reservation. She advised me to send the receipt form the new reservation to them for full refund. When I sent the receipt to booking. com, I was informed that I get refund ONLY for the difference in the cost of the first reservation. I feel deceived by the cunning representation when making my new reservation.
I could have made reservation with another company, but due to this generous offer I rebook with booking.com and made another reservation with them later during my travels before I knew about this outcome. I will make sure never to make my travel reservation through booking.com again due to their misrepresentations.
