“Better than I thought”

written by on 17/10/2013

I have been driving for 10 years. Never maid a claim before. I was reversed into by a young driver in a car park while I was stationary. This being my first claim I did not know what to expect, I looked into swiftcover reveiews on this website the following day, and thought I was going to get hammered with bad service and because I did not get any witnesses, it dawned on me that this was going to be bad, and although not at fault would likely get the blame.
However I was surprised, the accident happened on the 27th of sepetember, within the week my car though drivable was declared a write off with damage to wing, bumper, bonnet and lights I was not surprised by this as it was a 10 year old rover 25. The next day swiftcover phoned me and valued my car with what they would pay, we settled for about 15% more than there first offer, this is standard stuff. The next day my car was taken away. Payment was made within 5 days of this. Today they sent me an e-mail saying the other insurer has admitted liability and I will get my excess back within a week or so and my NCD has been re-installed, great me renewal is duo the end of November. So I may just be lucky, but credit where its due.
Now, there phone service is not very good, but they are web based so, you have to expect that there call centre side is going to be small, and it is. On the good side, the only time I needed to speak to them on the phone was to open the claim, took about 20 minutes. After I first made the claim I read somewhere on the net that when going through a claim, the 2 insurance companys and the customer must work well together. If they ask you for pictures, diagrams etc, do them fast and do them well. Admiral were the other insurance company used, and they too were very good.

So well done swiftcover, you have got at least one very happy customer
