Been using them to get to work for 6 months and these have been my experiences:
- regularly late. Around 75% of my journeys with them are delayed often by 15minutes or more.
- massively overpriced. £5.40 for 15 minute journey
-overcrowded. Never any free seats and dedicated bicycle spaces always full of pushchairs, luggage and passengers.
-staff ranging from clueless to downright rude.
-terrible customer service. When complaining to them in writing the responses I recieved ranged from patronising to outright insulting
-regular cancellations. Usually due to maintenance work. Replacement bus services always sub standard and always on days when no alternate travel options are available.
-unclean. Im sure some of their trains havent been cleaned in years. Can often small the toilets from the far end of the carriage.
The entire company seems to be entirely disfunctional to the point it resembles a bad sitcom at times. Would be funny if they werent ruining thousands of commuters days every day of the week. In short Arriva are at best a pathetic company and at worst a downright horrible one. Avoid them at all costs.
