It is hard to resist a bargain and Tiger Airways offer some very cheap prices. But the service is bare bones. Most people will get lucky and have no issues other than a delay. For me I had a much worse problem. They lost my luggage!
Now I understand that this can happen to anyone but it is how the matter is dealt with which is important. In the past another airline lost my luggage (also flying in to Thailand) and they were great. They were responsive, apologetic and even flew out my case to an island the next day.
With Tiger there was nothing. No one to speak to, no apology, no explanation, nothing. I had to manage with no clothes or other possessions. Over 6 months later, after they had made me jump through hoops, they sent me a paltry little check as compensation. It was hardly worth the effort to file the claim. I still never received any apology or got to chat or even email with anyone. They made it as difficult and impersonal as possible at every step of the way.
