On logging in to the Post Office online banking I was shocked at what I saw. To say it's basic is an understatement. The Post Office online banking website would not have been acceptable even in 1997. You get just one figure, your balance and the ability to go back through your statements in an incredibly clunky way. The FAQ section is so basic it's verging on the insulting. The website is riddled with usability howlers and that's even when it's working properly. 9 times out of 10 there is no data, your account is set to zero because apparently the Post Office's website doesn't communicate with the serving bank as it should do - according to what I was told by a Post office customer service rep. This makes it incredibly hard to manage your finances as a decent online service is a given in this day and age, it's much easier to slip into the red given their shambolic website. I've almost paid mine off and I'll be closing my account at the end of the month.
