color screen. 9210 keyboard improved from Nokia 9110. design. improved calendar. calendar synchronization that actually works reasonably well. speaker function.
symbian epoc operating system is slow: the design of the indexing function apparently failed miserably. too many simple flaws despite recent OS version (3.54). pointer key poorly designed. nonexistent third-party software support. reception occasionally jams.
The Nokia 9210 Communicator is a great concept: the synchronizable calendar is great, and it has improved considerably from the Nokia 9110. Also, the design and ergonomy represent an improvement over 9110 Communicator, not to mention the color screen. However, the epoc operating system is not there yet: the system is simply too slow. I suspect that the design of the memory indexing function has failed miserably. Even the text message function is too slow: it takes ages for the icons to appear on the screen. And where is the third-party software? Has anyone on this planet actually seen any (Tom-Tom's ads do not count: they are just hot air). So: great expectations, great disappointment. I still use it for the calendar function and for the speaker function though, but some PDAs are getting awfully close. And they do have third-party software support!
