“flight cancelled”

Very unhappy customer. Was due to fly out on 29/07/2013 from Edinburgh to New York then stop over for 3 hrs then fly to Florida. flight should have been at 12.05 we were told flight delayed then later on that evening told flight cancelled and told to come back following day and flight was for 1pm.They put us up in hotel overnight, but throughout the day ground staff were not very helpful. When we flew out the following day instead of 3 hour stop over in New York we had 6 hour stop over which was very exhausting and was eating further into our holiday time. We didn't arrive into Florida Till after midnight which was then into 31/07/2013 so although it started of 1 day delay in effect it took away 2 days holiday due to connection flight and exhaustion. At the moment we have been offered air miles which is a joke after the money I have paid out for a holiday which although delayed 1 day turns out we have missed 2 days holiday I would be looking for refund in money not air miles.This company need to get there act together if they want repeated business from customers.
