I needed to cancel the first leg of my roundtrip flight. United Airlines is trying to tell me that to do that I need to pay them $200 or they'll cancel the entire flight. Basically I'm giving them a free seat on that flight that they can resell to someone, and for my generosity, they want to charge me $200! WTF?!
When I asked if that made any sense the rude lady on the phone said "That policy has worked pretty good for us so far". This is THEFT as far as I'm concerned.
I've flown on United before and I can honestly say they have the worst service by far of any airline. I've heard of them ripping off other people in a similar fashion.
