“Mythos Appartments, Katelios, Kefalonia”

I spent a week in Mythos Appartments in Katelios with a teenage daughter (14yrs). We have not been to Kefalonia before- fell in love with the island. We loved a quiet charm of the village, friendliness of people, easy atmosphere. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The pool and surroundings inviting, the snack bar provided delicious food and drinks and a meeting place for a chat. Be prepared that there is only a trickle of water in the evening, when everyone is having a shower- I am sure we were pretty bad with our timings.
We went on two trips- around the island, which provides a good insight, if you don't know Kefalonia, though due to the nature of it, it reminded us a bit of a school trip, and a Beach BBQ, which should be renamed Sea, Sun and Fun to reflect its true fun nature (however the BBQ was delicious). We took part in a local Greek festival in a village up the mountain, as well as joined in with a Greek night at the bar.
A mini market across the road has everything you may want and a bakery a few minutes down the road has croissants to die for and ice cream to live for- to eat more.
A very big thank you to the manager, and his girlfriend, who look after the guests so well,to the rep for sharing her insight knowledge of the island and fellow holiday makers for a very friendly atmosphere. We had a great holiday.
