Hi,
I got my htc one with ee 1st June and it has been back to repair twice now due to poor quality of manufacture.
The device has a crack which is visable at the top and bottom edge of the phone. In fact this crack is caused by the front fascia not being fitted correctly to the back of the device. Using a fingernail reveals that the front fascia overhangs at the top, and underhangs at the bottom. This causes the crack, and also the glass not fitting properly. HTC have refused to replace the device "until they have attempted repair three times".
Riduculous, as this not only wastes my time, but also theirs. My not send a good new device? Brainless.
They have had the phone more than I have since purchase, and because the problem is because of manufacturing defect I have no confidence that it is actually fixable. I anticipate sending it back again for the third and final repair attempt, when they will send out a replacement. There are others also that have had this problem also as can be found on the xda website.
It seems that a high proportion of these devices have these defects from new, and there are reports of some users having to get the phone replaced 4 times before they have a non defective One.
It took htc 1 MONTH to acknowledge the manufacturing defect after a customer "escalation", and book into repair the first time, and then about 1 week to "repair" and return. It was no better than when it was sent in. This repair cycle seems as though its going to be longer than a week. In a months time I expect to be the owner of a samsung s4. They may be plastic, but they wont be poorly manufactured experience defective from the start. As I promised htc I would spend 1/2 hour each day communicating my experiences of htc and their flaghip One until it is fixed. Lots more time to go yet communicating my issues I suspect!!
