Having returned this morning from Crete, here are a few of my thoughts on the holiday.
Bali is a beautiful resort well suited for a family holiday but.....
1. We were not impressed with `Germania` the airline to which our flight was changed.
a) There was confusion in the correspondence we had over the changed flight times so that I had to ring to confirm them.
b) They managed to lose our outbound tickets between the check in desk and the departure gate.
2. We think the apartment is undersold in the Olympic brochure. The photo does not do the sea views justice and there was no mention of the presence of air conditioning.
However, although the apartment is close to the sea the beach is certainly not the 50 metres away mentioned. It is a good 3-4 minute walk away down a very steep hill which could be a problem for those with walking difficulties.
3. On arrival at 3.30am! the driver was not sure where the Bali Apartments were. We were dumped at the top of the road and left to make our own way.
There was huge confusion because nowhere is the name `Bali Apartments` mentioned, they are called the `Marinaki` Apartments and only the presence of the Olympic sign gave us any clue. The reception desk is difficult to find (especially in the dark) being down the SIDE of the building and needs MUCH bigger signage.
Having said all this, we enjoyed our holiday and hope that the points mentioned will be taken as constructive criticism.
