“My Awesome Aussie Adventure!”

written by MaddyLC on 13/08/2013

I travelled to Australia for the first time earlier this year and was a little anxious, but very excited for my first time travels. In total I was in Australia for 3 months, went to Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Coober Pedy, Alice Springs, Cairns, Brisbane, back to Sydney... and pretty much everywhere in-between! Travelling with some friends, I had the time of my life, but without a doubt, my top 3 experiences were my 3 Gap360 trips! Even forcing New Years in Sydney down to 4th!

Our first trip was The Great Ocean Road - from Melbourne to Adelaide. I wasn't too sure what to expect going into it, but three days later, I just didn't want it to end! We had the best tour guide who was really funny, knew all there was to know on the cultural history of the places we visited and was, not to mention, a chef! So we had the best meals! We climbed Hollow Mountain in The Grampians, saw wild kangaroos and koalas, stood at the foot of MacKenzie Falls, saw The Twelve Apostles, London Bridge and Lord Ard Gorge... the list is endless! And i would happily do it all over again!

Second trip was Uluru & Red Centre. This was incredible and unlike anything you will ever do or see in your life! The walking around, climbing over and hiking through the iconic Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Kings Canyon was an experience I can't even describe, and one that made for the most magical photos you can imagine! But even above this and drinking champagne watching the sun set over Uluru and dinners made on the campfire, the highlight was the swag camping. Falling asleep under a sky with almost more stars than darkness is indescribable! My absolute favourite moment of the 3 months!

Finally Tall Ship Sailing around the Whitsunday Islands. This trip can be summed up with one word - Luxury! You pay with Gap360 then get on the boat and think they've given you a free upgrade with 3 days of gourmet food, comfy beds and beautiful locations to stop at and explore, be it by foot or snorkel. Overall, after three days on the ship, I was more relaxed and calm than I think I had ever been!

My Gap360 Australia programmes were absolutely incredible and I would immediately recommend them to anyone looking for a fun adventure! I'm definitely booking my future trips with Gap360 again!
