I just made a last minute booking from Lisbon to Berlin for a friend who missed her original flight. I made the booking at around 12:00, noon (Berlin time). The departure time of the flight I booked was 16:10 (Lisbon time). I immediately received an email, saying that they received my booking, but I need to wait for a confirmation. They will notice me as soon as they get the confirmation from the airline.
At around 14:30 (Lisbon time) we got a little nervous. So I called customer service. They connected me with a person talking to me in German. This makes sense, since I'm German and I'm calling from Germany. The first problem was problem was however, that I could hardly understand him. Second problem was, that he seemed reluctant to help me. I gave up.
I called Brussels Airlines, the airline with which the booking was made via bravofly. The guy there was very polite, fast and thinking along. He quickly found out that the booking is made with yet another airline and that there should be nothing to stop bravofly from confirming and issuing the ticket.
So I called bravofly again. Now I got someone on the line I could understand and who was at least trying to help me. She told me that I need to wait for the confirmation. I told her that there is only one hour left until the flight departs. She told me that I can cancel the booking. I said I'd rather have my friend take the flight and that according to Brussels Airlines there's no reason to wait. I asked if I can speak to a supervisor. She did it herself. She said I need to wait or cancel. I said I want to talk to the supervisor. She said he will say the same. I said I want to hear i from him. She put me on hold.
While I was on hold I received the confirmation. It was now 15:03 (Lisbon time), one hour before the plane would take off.
She came back and said that it is confirmed and that my friend can check in now. I said that she probably might miss the flight now, and that it is not her fault, since she has been sitting at the airport all day. She didn't say much. I asked if I will get the costs refunded if she misses the flight. No real answer to that. I asked why it took so long to confirm it. She started to explain the ways a booking with many parties involved takes back and forth. I said according to Brussels Airlines the booking could have been confirmed a while ago, and that the problem maybe was internal to bravofly. No answer of course. Asking again for a refund in case my friend misses the flight she said in that case I should call again. "But let's hope that she will get it, hahaha." I hung up
In some minutes I will know if she got the flight. In any case, I will never book with bravofly anymore.
