“A better service at a cheaper price”

written by on 24/07/2013

When choosing hatched I wanted to find an estate agent that actually appeared to offer value for money. I couldn't see how paying 1.5% (2K) for a high street agent to sell my house was good value. Hatched use a fixed price option (actually have several) that leave you in no doubt as to exactly what it will cost and the terms you are agreeing.

The photos including the very clever 360 degree tour function were a of great quality. Been a national organisation (They have now opened some regional offices I believe) they don't know the local market. You have to compose the description yourself with their guidance and the price was again down to us to choose. But given that three local estate agents came up with three prices that varied by over 25% I'm not sure the local estate agents have a clue about the local market either. Hatched also proved an online portal that allows you to view feedback and make some changes to the listing.

They list on the best websites such as rightmove and zoopla. I don't think anybody buys a property by looking in the local paper anymore so I don't think I missed out by not having that sort of marketing.

They arrange the viewings sending txt and email with two viewing options for each enquiry. Of course you have to show the potential buyer around yourself which I think I preferred. This would be an issue if you were selling a property that you weren't local to and unable to conduct the viewing yourself.

After the viewing they update the online tracking system they have with feedback and txt/email to let you know.

I wouldn't use their recommended solicitor again, but this is your choice. No pressure what so ever to use them.
