“Would give 0 stars if I could - shockingly bad service”

written by Marion_Cobretti on 18/07/2013

I was passed over to Wheelies by my insurance broker, Protect Your Bubble (who, incidentally, provided a great customer service and were nothing but attentive in their communications. Sadly I won't be buying insurance with them again after the debacle of dealing with their [referred supplier, Wheelies)

I was told by PYB that the turnaround time for replacing my broken bicycle would be about 2 weeks. It has now been close to two months and I am now in debt paying for the ridiculously overpriced transport in London and still have no bike.

After countless phone calls to Wheelies to try and get them to get off their butts and actually do their jobs, they eventually had my wrecked bicycle collected by courier and I was given a date for delivery of my replacement bicycle. I thought the time-frame of 2 weeks to get the new bike to me was a little long, but the guy on the phone at Wheelies assured me it would likely arrive sooner. Fine, at least I now had a date and could budget for other transport methods.

But no...this would be too much to hope for from an amateur outfit like Wheelies. Having not heard from them, and knowing their track record of being totally incompetent, I called them the day before my delivery date and spoke to a pleasant woman who confirmed delivery had been arranged

I then had a phone call, 3 hours later from a barely intelligible neanderthal who said that they needed to assess my broken bike before they could authorise delivery of my new bike!!!

You've had the bicycle 3 weeks...the insurance co have OK'd the claim, the bike frame is in 2 pieces...and you need to 'assess' it the day before my delivery date? ACTUALLY WTF??

As I said before, these guys are amateurs at best and at worst treat their customers with nothing but contempt. I'd like to point out there has been no communication on their part throughout my claim and I have had to chase them every step of the way, which is turning into a full-time job of its own on-top of my normal working week.

If you have any choice in the matter, avoid Wheelies at all costs! AVOID AVOID AVOID!
