It appears that Avis Glasgow is not alone in misleading customers about Fuelling their cars. Recently picked-up car at Glasgow Airport and paid £40 for the privilege of a one way Hire to Edinburgh Airport. As a "Preferred Customer" this was all expected however, upon returning the car FULLY fuelled I was charged £12.13 because I could not produce a receipt for the Fuel purchased. NOT TOLD OF THIS NEW REQUIREMENT WHEN I PICKED UP THE CAR. This charge apparently covers the cost of the vehicle being physically checked for fuel during valeting????? Special dipstick or fuel gauge???
I purchased the Fuel the night before and receipt mislaid. Having spent thousands of pounds with Avis in recent years this petty "Ryanair" tactic has persuaded me to move to a more Customer Focused company such as Hertz.
