“Halifax Online Banking losing the plot”

written by on 03/07/2013

Logged a complaint so that it will go on Ombudsman statistic.

I locked myself out of my account, not even sure whether it's the password or the memorable word. Perfect. Found the reset password link.

Went through numerous internet banking hoops only asked to call with a reference number. The phone security repeats the whole thing again but
I couldn't reset it over the phone because I don't have a phone banking security code. I do not use phone banking but just internet banking

I need to get up a phone based security code that will arrive in 5 days or go to branch with 2 IDs. That code will be needed then to verify your identity and forget the voice message reminder about getting your debit card, it's a fraudulent belief.

Online banking has been made safe as I know my user ID that I dont keep in my wallet, I have phone to prevent people from paying themselves if they get into my account, and I dont bring debit card around anyway. So a message to whoever that design this process. Absolutely poor zealots just wanting to create inconvenience to customer.

If £5 is not your worth, then forget online banking with Halifax.

A message to Halifax "Welcome to 19th century!"
