“Total garbage.”

After hiring a car from avis we were unlucky enough to have a blowout. The car was good and clean, but the service and attitude from the Avis staff at Bergerac airport was totally disgusting; ill manored and unfriendly. After waiting for a breakdown truck to tow the car away, we were given an alternative vehicle, only to be charged £270 for a tyre, and a penalty charge for failing to refuel the original car- that was towed away. When we asked about the tyre, the staff member was totally unfriendly, and replied only that "we would have to pay for it as we must have hit something." When we questioned this statement, bearing in mind that the car is insured, we were unable to get any details at all. They simply took the money from the credit card provided and gave us no breakdown of the cost until we asked for it. The same gyre could be bought for around £70. I found the staff to be rude and inept, and the company policies woefully out of date and not customer friendly. Overall, I would never recommend this company to anyone, and will certainly never use them again.
