“Untrustworthy Unprofessional”

On Mon 24/06/14 I Went too look at an adress in west dearby, Liverpool.. was shown around by a young lad called from the West Derby Branch- Liverpool. He was polite and friendly enough.. Upon seeing the house i asked questions such as if we put the money down now will it be reserved and no other viewings or applications would be allowed.. we were told no and warned that you have to move in within four weeks..

The house is for my sister who lives in the midlands and works as a full time Social worker and foster carer. I explained this to Alex an asked him would the landlord be ok with the foster career issue because we would need a letter he said he would contact him an check..

We made the decision to put the application deposit down there an then so the house would be taken off the market pending the usual credit and referee checks). He gave the application paperwork
and said it would be okay for it to be completed at the weekend which is earliest my sister could make it. Alex said that shouldnt be a problem.. (well that turned out to be a lie)

I emailed them the same evening to confirm a viewing time for my sister that sat.. tuesday never heard anything, wednesday no phone, so at three pm, as my sister was on the motorway, I contacted them to see if she could view the property today instead of waiting till the weekend, only to be told another viewing an application had been allowed and that both apps would go before the landlord to decide.. As you can appreciate we were furious as my sister had almost handed in her notice on the back of this deal..

when I tried to negotiate and get the bottom of this I was told this was common practice at all estate agents.. and that he had not made any of the promises as mentioned above.. When i explained our disaapointment all i got was well you can have your money back if you want.. I asked are you also goning to reimburse us for the petrol and time my sister has taken from work as she is on her way now.. his reply is I did email you first thing this morning (wed 26/06/13). my reply was Alex this issue is a game changer and should have been a phone call.. he begrudgingly agreed.

This morning I attended the office and spoke to the manager explaining our dismay at the service we received, he reply was they took a second application because although we had paid we had not completed the app fprm which alex had agreed could wait till that Saturday.. what a complete cop out..

Although My sister had viewed the house and agreed with me it was perfect for her needs, she however after a nights sleep and me relaying my conversation we decided this is not a reputable company which does not work within the comfines of good faith and decided to pull out.. they have agreed to refund me and made it out as if they were doing me a big favour.. ha ha unbelievable..

I would highly recommend Entwistle and Green they have high level of ethics. I had a viewing organised with them a few weeks ago the minute they got an app in they cancelled my viewing.. thats how it should work!!!

My advice is do not trust these fly by nights, they will lie and twist words to justify their incompetence..
