“All around terrible!”

written by on 26/06/2013

I was on an Alitalia flight from Rome to JFK. The flight was an all around mess. When we first got on the plane it was so incredibly hot and there were no controls to change the temperature. The seats are so small and so upright, and in front of my seat (as well as many others) there was a metal box (not sure what it was used
For) that prevented me from stretching my legs at all. It took forever to take off, and people were just standing around walking around the cabin for about a half hour after we were supposed to take off and I couldn't understand why the flight attendants didnt tell everyone to take a seat so we could get moving. The person behind me had terrible body odor which I could smell the ENTIRE flight, the woman behind my mother kept pulling my moms hair every time she stood up and the man on the end behind us was pushing the seat in front of him up as the woman was trying to recline her chair. During the flight the televisions were impossible to get working, and when you finally did crack the code of turning it on they had to reboot the system so most of the flight it didnt work. The food was terrible as well. Mushy pasta and a roll. I've never seen so many people standing up and walking around on a flight in my life.. Just walking up and down the isles chatting with each other. Many people would get up, get a drink and a snack, but when I finally did the same they refused to give me anything and said they were going to serve snacks soon but that didnt happen for another hour. The cabin crew was RUDE and rolled their eyes, pretended they didn't understand English and clearly were biased towards Americans. When we finally landed and waiting for our luggage, I saw a piece of luggage completely unzipped with nothing it it. I feel terrible for that person. I usually fly delta, the flight attendants actually make eye contact with you and make you feel like they care and provide you with anything you need unlike these attendants who make it seem like you were a burden to them. Safe to say I will NEVER fly Alitalia again and I urge you to do the same!
