We booked with Olympic to stay at the Belvedere Apts from the 7th – 14th June 2013. With the help of the local Olympic rep we left the next day for alternative accommodation. On arrival to the Belvedere we found:
No hot water and none to the time of our departure from the Belvedere the next evening which was around 18.00 hrs
Bed sheet stained with 2 red stains
Other bed linen old and frayed
One pillow had black marks and stains on it
A mattress was propped up against a wall in an alcove
Bin under sink was filthy dirty both inside and out – we had to put it outside the apartment
2 sun loungers outside property so old they were a dirty grey colour and were broken
Curtain hanging from fittings.
The fixtures and fittings in the apartment were in old and shabby and beyond serviceable use and should have been thrown out years ago.
We paid £1,170 for 2 adults for a one week stay at the Belvedere which certainly did not represent value for money. We did not originally select the Belvedere Apts for our holiday but found that as we wanted to fly from a regional airport (Exeter) Olympic, despite having space available on the Exeter flight and the accommodation we wished to go to, would not let us book it, for some reason we had to fly from either Gatwick or Manchester, which was ridiculous as we live 20 minutes from Exeter airport. The choice of accommodation offered to us by Olympic if we wished to fly from Exeter was limited, with the Belvedere being the best option of a quiet resort and not too big a complex.
We have been travelling to Greece for over 25 years staying in self catering apartments or studios and have never had cause to complain. We know that accommodation is basic, but always clean and well presented, the Belvedere was well below an acceptable standard of accommodation.
