“Aaaaaaarrrggghhh”

I stayed in the vassos apartments in may 2013, they are horribly dark and dingy. I don't know if we were the first customers of the season who had stayed here but the apartment downstairs smelled and felt very damp. It was terrible. Cockroaches were also a huge problem and they were very big! I had to buy repellant and bleach but could not get rid of them. I did inform the rep, ( who was very friendly and chatty) but he didnt seem to take notice or offer any apologies. I understand he was also helping 2 other lots of guests in these apartments who had problems, so he was busy. If you looked in the cupboards and under the beds the apartment was absolutely filthy. The cleaner visited twice a week. She sweeps the floors and gives you clean towels and emptys the bins. She does not replace the toilet roll! This place needs fumigating and everywhere needs a good clean with lots of bleach. The lighting is very poor it needs more light fittings everywhere to brighten it up. Architrave round the internal doors is rotten and needs replacing. The bathroom needs steam cleaning, regrouting and the dirty rusty pipes and drain need replacing. Inside of one of the kitchen cupboards is a big scummy hole, I couldn't investigate it as I didn't want to get too close. The pots, pans, cutlery have seen better days and the oven/hob looks dangerous. Even the wardrobes are an accident waiting to happen. The beds and pillows needs good protective waterproof covers. Who wants to lie on anyone else's sweat! Why oh why is the price of the air conditioning not included in the holiday cost? How ridiculous is it to have to try and catch the maid to organise payment and to get it switched on, we didn't see the maid for the first 3 days! Who insisted we would have to pay for a full weeks usage! Olympic sort this horrible apartment out. I have been visiting Lindos for 16 years, 2 to 3 times a year and have never had apartments as horrible and unclean as these. Get a manager from the UK to visit Rhodes and stay here for a week, (not an island rep), and see if they see the week out.

On a good note they are in a good location for the beach and the village. Best to warn people of the steep steps down to the beach in case they are infirm. These could be great apartments with some TLC and a bit of cash.

The transfer took 2 hours without a rep!!!! I have never had a transfer take more than an hour before. There were some holiday makers on our coach who said they weren't even olympic customers. This is bad practice.
