Searching for baptisms and marriages is much more basic than many other search systems such as Ancestry and FamilySearch. When searching for a baptism, it is not possible to enter the parents' first names, so if the exact place is not known, it may be necessary to wade through a large number of records to find the entry being sought. It is also not easy to identify all the children of particular parents.
The same is true of marriage searching. If the wife's first name is known, for example from a baptism entry of a couple's children, it is not possible to narrow down searching by entering this.
The range of parish records, many of which have been supplied by Family History Societies, is good, but FindMyPast need to improve their search system.
