“DFDS NON customer care !”

Amsterdam to Newcastle mini cruise aboard King Seaways:

CUSTOMER SERVICE

I'll begin with some of the most apalling customer service that I have ever had the misfortune to suffer, if you take this trip you will more than likely endure a high level of staff that have the English speaking skills of a horse and even less Dutch ! It is somewhat frustrating when your question is replied to with a totally non related answer or even worse that weird glare that you recieve which is kind of the same as the glare you would get after robbing an eskimo of the only fish he had caught after 10 hours fishing in a blizzard. Be sure to swerve the lighthouse cafe, where you will be greeted with the attitude of a teen in puberty if you have the misfortune to be served by possibly the worlds most obnoxious woman (Russian I think)and food fit only for your dog, I ordered the chilli for approx' €15 and in return received a bowl of mince with about 3 chilli beans in it. The Bureau de Change is equally horrific, I spoke to 2 guys there about cash withdrawals and was advised that they could not accept bank cards from Holland (ABN Amro, Rabobank, ING etc), this problem was the same in the Seven Seas restaurant, where they insist in swiping the card as opposed to using the chip, so I ended up using the small amount of cash I had paying for my food when the website said clearly that we could 'pin' .

ENTERTAINMENT

I am kicking myself because I cannot remember the name of the Entertainment manager aboard the ship, he was a breath of fresh air and strived to ensure that everyone was well entertained, be it from games such as Bingo, to quizzes to chart music and also live music. More than likely the live music will be from the very aptly named N.R.G. the lead singer is like a chimpanzee on some sort of narcotics,that being said, they are very good and thoroughly entertaining.

Overall, I would be looking to travel with another operator the next time I wish to travel to th U.K. the poor customer service was enough to deter me from DFDS again.
