I too, could not put this book down. I usually take a week to read a book, and I don't even like reading. What he experienced was absolutely appalling and noone should have experienced it, even a drug traficker. Out of all the books I read, this is the one that had the most impact on me. So even after 10 years I still remember bits of the book that haunt me today. It made me very sad at the suffering of the inmates and the lack of human feelings in those who dished out this kind of punishment. I would however, stop short of recommending it to anyone as you have to be fairly mentally robust even just to read the experience in Thai prisons.
