I give this kettle one star because it looks well on the worktop and has a good capacity, that's where all the positivie comments end. I bought a Magimix Kettle (stainless steel with cream inside handle), during a 25% off event at Debenhams. Staff assured me that there was nothing wrong with it and I was delighted to save a few quid. I brought the kettle home and put some water in it to boil, around half full, it seemed to reach boiling point very quickly but didn't shut off and I was a bit concerned. Once it stopped, I noticed a considerable amount of water on the worktop and wondered of I had perhaps spilled some when filling the kettle. I emptied the kettle again and repeated the process, this time it seemed to boil quicker. I noticed the water on the worktop again, I lifted the kettle and the base was soaking, tilted it to the side and water seemed to run out of it. I checked the manual to see if there was something I was doing wrong and it did say that in order to make the kettle cut off when it reached boiling point, it allowed moisture into the base- sounded odd, so I emptied the kettle and this time I made sure there was no water on the worktop, proceeded to boil and again it took longer to cut out at boiling point. I had also placed some paper on the worktop under the kettle and it was soaking wet. I cannot understand how a company can issue what is clearly faulty goods and do nothing to correct the situation. I bought Magimix because I have had one of their food processors for 37 years and it is still as good as the day I bought it. Returned it to the shop on the following day, told me they weren't stocking the product anymore.
