“No help in time of need”

Saga Travel Insurance, supposedly offering peace of mind for the over 50's, is merely a front for the real insurers Great Lakes Reinsurance PLC and a claims centre 'First Assist'.
I had genuine need for help to get home after becoming very ill on return from a cruise. The policy and telephone help from Saga was no use at all.
I had to call on relatives to get me home from the port. The inference sent to me was that Saga Travel Insurance only covered emergencies out of the UK and not from home to point of travel and return.
Try other providors.
