“Truely the most terrible sportswear company to buy from!!!”

If you're reading this then I'm sure you've seen all of the negative reviews and are either yet to purchase or unfortunate enough to have already made a purchase. If you're the former then please do yourself a favour and DO NOT ORDER from this truly awful company!

I ordered nearly £360's worth of running gear from sportsdirect due to their price being considerably lower than other retailers especially when considering the RRP.

I received my order in a couple of days, no problem there, but when opening the package I noticed that their was no order/returns slip which meant I had to refer to my online account when to check my order, not very helpful at all. After going through the order, I notice that 2 items are missing from the order, I note this and go about trying on the remaining items. When doing this I find that many of the item are grubby, with general dust/dirt on them which is very noticeable and not acceptable from new items. It's a lot like their high street stores, what with items lying on the floor gathering dust or kicked under rails with dirty footprints over then. It seems their staff take as little care in the warehouse as they do in the store. I understand that it's a discount store, but customers expect to receive their products in a good clean state.

I emailed the customer service team twice regarding the 2 missing items, but I never got a reply. After eventually finding their contact number, hidden online and no where viewable on their website, I contacted them to speak about my order. After eventually waiting over 15 minutes on the phone, I did get through to a customer service rep who was reasonably helpful, but clearly didn't want to go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction and simply forwarded me a 'missing item' form to fill out and return. I filled it out and returned it the very same day. I also returned the majority of my order (at my own cost) to them due to all of the items being dirty.

After about a week I received an automated refund email stating that I'd been refunded x amount, straight away I knew this couldn't be right as I was expecting the refund to be a lot higher due to me returning the majority of the order due to the poor quality of the items. So I have returned the items but received a refund for a far lower amount that I initially paid, meaning that sportsdirect.com still have a good chunk of my money even though they've received the items back!

Again this has resulted with another call to them, but this time I'm just getting a automated message saying that they're receiving a high amount of calls at this time (I wonder why!) and then I get cut off!! Completely not acceptable for a customer service line, I'd at least expect to have the option of waiting in a queue.

One thing to learn from this experience; DO NOT ORDER from this truly awful company!! Spend a little bit more and buy from someone like sportsshoes or mandmdirect who actually have a working customer service number that they display proudly on their website and don't hide from customers. It's not about the mistakes you make, it's about how you resolve them.
