“Eels, O2 Academy Bournemouth”

Written on: 25/03/2013 by phant0menace99 (1 review written)

We arrived late and the venue was busy but we eventually found a spot near the sound desk with a clear view of the stage. Timing was perfect the band soon arrived on stage and produced a stomping set of material, mostly from the excellent new Wonderful, Glorious album which i know well and really enjoy. For good measure there were excellent covers of Led Zeppelin and Small Faces classics as well as some of Eel's older classics including That look you give that guy and That's not really Funny. The encore was shortish due to the strict curfew but non the less an enjoyable mash up of Mr E's Beautiful Day and My Beloved Monster. It was a fantastic and memorable gig.
