After reading the reviews on the Magimix kettle Id like to stand up for Magimix as mine has been fantastic for over four years with none of the problems other users have had or any other problem. Until now, somehow the lid closes a little to one side allowing some steam out thus possibly prolonging shut off when it boils. Yes ! ive tried fixing it with a screw driver and popped the lid off (broke it more like. So Ive bought a new one, the same, as I think they are by FAR the only kettle to have.
ALL others feel cheap and nasty, apart from the Buggatti Vera, with they're single skin walls, full thin plastic bodies and cheap looking chrome and silly gimmicky screw on colours, (whats that all about?) The magimix feels like a heavy Industrialist made it with huge rivets and nuts and bolts that would hold the Queen Mary together. It has a feels of , "they dont make them like that anymore" "built to last they are" etc.
Its beautiful to look at, boils water just right, reasonably quiet while doing so. There is a but, my other half says its too heavy for her (all part of the quality build) so I say I'll do all the pouring with pleasure.
I'm sorry others have had problems with their kettles , its not really what Magimix are about. I've not and my friend who has one also has had no problems. His is over five years old. I would have another one tomorrow if need be.
I'm off for a brew now, bye all.
