Wanted a cd player that could play CDR which my old pioneer couldnt. Out of the box the case and unit look great , simple but purposeful. I like the simple display for track number and nice blue hue. One small issue was the remote wouldnt work after installing the battery . And no instructions as to which way the battery goes in but they tell you to make sure it goes in right way! lol. Then remote wouldnt work till I tapped it a few times. Now it works . Compared this directly to an older Rotel player and was sound was distictly more bass, and wider range, although the rotel had a stronger mid I thought. I was having problems with distortion in speakers when pushing volume with old cd player but this CD5 seems to have cured that I can push the volume at least 20% more now . Cant complain about that!!
