“Stay well clear of these cowboys”

My 90 year old grandad order a jumper in early December and sent a cheque payment, when the jumpers didn't arrive a week or so later he rang to ask why and was told they had no record of his order. He paid over the phone by debit card that day and his jumper was dispatched (and received) but in the mean time Chums also banked his cheque. Several attempts have been made by various family members to contact Chums customer services by telephone but each time we were on hold for up to 30 mins a time (the cost of these calls are extortionate) eventually I contacted them via email. I was first told they would look into it and get back to me, a couple of weeks later I contacted them again And they said they would send a cheque refund, a couple of weeks after that I contacted them to say the cheque hadn't been received and they should re-issue (if of course they sent it in the first place!) they then told me they can not raise another cheque until 1 month after the first one due to "procedure". Clear if the cheque has not arrive 14 days after they issued it, it is merely common sense that the cheque has gone missing and they should cancel it? Well my grandad has now been waiting for his money to be returned for 7 weeks and there is no sign of it coming any time soon. PLEASE BE WARNED......these people are heartless, robbing cowboys who have no sense of ethics or social responsibility
