“I got an email telling me to use my so-called coupon...”

written by cutlassciera on 15/02/2007

Good Points
Microsoft passport.

Bad Points
Disappearing coupons that vanish when you try to use them. Patronizing and insulting customer service representatives.

General Comments
I got an email telling me to use my so-called coupon for $200, on a vacation to sunny Mexico. Since I was booking a vacation to Sunny Mexico anyway, I decided to book it through Expedia to utilise my coupon and told a friend who was making an identical reservation to book his through them at the same time. I clicked on the use the coupon link and proceeded to book my vacation. However, when the transaction was finished my coupon had mysteriously vanished. I went back and forth with customer service and it turns out that my vacation violated the technical details of the coupon. They did not offer me a refund. They did not offer me the coupon. They just sent me dozens of patronizing emails telling me that they appreciated my understanding in the situation that Expedia was staffed with dedicated professionals who want to learn and grow and a million other platitudes. Truly disgusting. Avoid them at all costs.
