“Totally Rubbish Boiler”

written by anthonbat on 15/02/2013

Previous to this Ideal Isar HE24 Combi Condensing Boiler being fitted by warmfront there was a floor standing Potterton in my home that must have been at least 25 years old and worked perfectly apart from one or two minor faults that were put right easily by the service engineer that we employ to come once a year to service the boiler. On his advice that it was becoming more and more difficult to source the parts for the potterton because of its age we decided to go in with warmfront scheme and have a new boiler fitted under there scheme.
Dont think for a minute it was greed or something for nothing on my part as I had to pay above £1,000.on top of the £2,700 warmfront paid for the priveledge of having a new boiler in 2007. This to me was a total rip off by the installing companies who could see a way of making a fast buck on the backs of the general public. What I mean by the general public is it must have been funded by the tax payer the households who had to pay £1,000.or more extra. The government and the general public certainly had the wool pulled over thier eyes with this sham.

Now to the boiler in question, I must thank Shielas Wheels Insurance Company for thier patience and understanding for sending their engineers out to my house so many times since december to repair this boiler. It has had a New Gas Valve.A New Ignition System.A New Printed Cicuit Board.and a New Pump, fitted at who knows what cost. It has now come to the point that I am feeling ashamed to call my insurers out anymore.Since the fitter came this afternoon and fitted the new pump I have had no lights on the boiler control panel so it looks like I am stuck with trying to operate the central heating with my wall temperature contol clock. I live on my own since I lost my Wife to ill health 2 years ago and I am thankful that She is not here to be witnessing this appalling set of circumstances I now find myself in, with this RUBBISH boiler. (although I wish She was still with me).,At 72 years old I thought every major expense was taken care of now I have to consider a new boiler.

I hope my experience with Ideal Boilers is enough to warn others to think twice before investing in a boiler from this company ., take my advice and leave well enough alone.
