The main disappointment that spoilt our visit to Elveden was how cold the sub tropical area was. The pool was not too cold but the air temperature was freezing. We had to leave the pool with the children as they were shivering and being under 2 we felt it was too cold for them to stay. We have been a year before and it was lovely and warm. We raised this but were told it as -5 c outside and this maybe the reason but have seen a number of reviews and it seems there is a problem at elveden with a number of reviews raising how cold the sub tropical area is. We wrote a letter to customer services to raise this issue they responded back to state they have a monitoring system and the computer had shown that that the temperature was at an adequate temperature. I therefore would not recommend to stay if you are planning to spend a significant amount if time in sub tropical area... If you already booked advise taking in bathrobes so if you want to stop for coffee or a bite to eat you got something warm to wear ... I you not booked I recommend going to Sherwood as the sub tropical area is lovely and warm.
The restaurants are all great and the quality of food is good and cater well for children.
