I experienced a worrying attitude from a security staff member who was clearly abusing his position of authority rather than insuring travellers' security and in the process extorting me of my money! I was refused access through security because I was carrying a bare minimum of toiletries (i.e. 1 nearly empty toothpaste tube, 1x20ml of liquid soap, 1x25ml of moisturiser) into a transparent plastic bag that was 25x25cm rather than the 20x20cm required. I would assume that the reason for giving a size limit is to restrict the volume of liquids per traveller. However clear it was that the little liquids I had to carry would also fit into a 20x20cm bag, there was clearly no brain matter in between this guy's ears and I was asked to put 50p into an airport machine so that I would get the required plastic bag for my toiletries! Can you imagine the money that is made per plastic bag!! It must cost 2p to manufacture a plastic bag! I had to queue again and instead of concentrating on his job, the same security staff was smiling at me with sheer joy of power and stupidity that he possessed. When I got to a different security gate, I was able to pass through with my original transparent plastic bag and the same little amount of toiletries!!Seriously!! No wonder authorities are no longer being respected!!
