“Company with no ethics”

Like others we bought a mattress from them online because we needed one straight away. The mattress cost £1100 so not cheap. It was Relayon manufacturer double spring with top pillow medium firmness. After a couple of months I started sinking in and after 6 months it became very uncomfortable to sleep on. Both my husband and I sink in with our shoulders pushed inwards and rolling to the centre. We called Mattressmen, they sked to send the photos and after replied that manufacturer didn't see a problem withy the mattress. So they advised to get FIRA independent inspector in but we had to pay £75. When he came, he was very rude and arrogant and after his investigation kept telling us that structurally there is nothing wrong with the mattress. We disagreed with his report because he didn't give us any assessment in terms of the sinking problem and the mattress being too soft. In his words that wasn't his area of expertise and so he couldn't help us. So complete waste of money and of course Mattressman did not advise us about this! After they came back saying that because the inspector didn't find anything wrong with the mattress they couldn't help us further. We insisted for a while arguing hat we bought a medim firm mattress which is now totally on the softest side of all bur they kept giving irrelevant replies. We have a 10 months old baby who needs feeding at night and has been teething for months so she sleeps with us. Because the mattress is so soft it makes it a big problem for us and we can't get a decent sleep. We decided to share our story with The Independent consumer champion who have reported a similar problem in the past.
