As a freelance software developer, I have worked with many hosting companies over the years and, with Java being an important part of much of my work, it has been a struggle (to say the least) to find a provider that supports this yet delivers consistent, high-quality and value-for-money service.
I switched to CWCS a few years ago, first of all opting for a virtual private server as the most affordable way to be able to run a private Tomcat (Java web server) instance and to have secure access to the Linux shell. On occasions when I've needed advice or help with installation or configuration matters, I've always had a speedy and helpful response from CWCS.
Recently I upgraded to the newer Linux Cloud service; still essentially a virtualised private machine, but more resilient and with better performance. The hassle of having to reinstall and configure applications, transfer files, databases, mail, etc. from one server to another was one chore that I was not looking forward to, but CWCS staff took care of this, including installation and initial setup of all the main server applications :-)
So far, performance and stability have been excellent, but the aspect of service that brings by far the greatest value is, as far as I'm concerned, the knowledgeable, friendly and responsive technical support team.
Don't mistake this for hyperbole: I'm writing from quite extensive experience, and I feel now that I have a hosting provider whose support team has a passion for their work that matches the passion I have for mine.
