2 Years ago I left Virgin due to very slow internet speeds. When my BT account came to an end, Virgin pestered me on the phone with promises that their internet speeds had increased, their new system solving the problems from before.
I was persuaded, and I regret it.
I am lucky, most evenings to get 0.5Mb speeds, yep, you read it right.. that's less than half a MB. Virgin asked me to log in to their own speed test site to 'check the equipment'.. they were ashamed when they had to give up as the speed was so slow the site wouldn't even load!
I was given £10 discount and told the problem will be fixed asap, same story I heard 2 years ago.. same poor service.
If you have an alternative offer to Virgin, take it.
