“Balance Transfer not what it says on tin”

If you use the ASDA Money card for anything but Balance Transfers be wary they charge interest on purchases from day 1 even if you pay off purchases by due date. When asked why interest payable if Balance Transfer amount which gets 12 months 0% is only amount due they say interest chargeable on purchases and any payment made is taken off purchases, so in my book interest should be nil? I must be getting old, needless to say Card has been destroyed!
