I ve just bought a Genesis Equilibrium 10 with Tiagra 10 speed compact chainset and gears from ukbikesdepot.com. The bicycle wasn't well set up, the front derailleur wouldn't change up to top gear and banged off the crank and the rear derailleur was out of adjustment and skipped gears. The brakes are set too tight to the rims and had to also be adjusted by another local cycle shop. ukbikesdepot.com delivered the narrow width fitting instead of the wide width fitting of Shimano M088 shoes specified, which I only discovered after I had fitted the cleats and taken the bike for a test ride and discovered that the shoes were a bit tight. The mudguards were cut to size and fitted to the rear wheel but rubbed off the wheels(thank you)Another problem with the bike is that the seat tube bottle cage bolts are positioned either side of the front derailleur clamp, meaning that they cannot be used and I had to resort to fitting 25 year old stainless steel clamps to fit the second bottle cage.I didnt use the colour coordinated white saddle so I cant comment on its comfort etc I have fitted a 5 year old brooks B17 Special which is as comfortable as an armchair. I appreciated the slightly wider 25mm semi slick continental tyres but they are a bit nerve wracking at this time of year with the ice about on the wet roads to really push the bike downhill! I appreciate the bike a bit more now that I have had it adjusted and like the coordinated paintwork and polished metal equipment. It is however let down by the bottle bolt positioning and the tacky on black seat clamp. The bicycle was however well packed and padded out with foam and bubble wrap to prevent scratching etc. The whole delivery was another saga. The bike could be delivered immediately as the shoes and pedals were to arrive a day later so I arranged a whole day off to wait for the bike on a Friday. TNT claimed that lorry broke down but didnt inform the waiting customers. I then took off the next afternoon (Monday) as they wouldnt deliver on a Saturday and again the bike wasnt delivered but a TNT van came down my road and delivered to a neighbour which was especially galling. They claimed there had been mixup in communication despite lots of phone calls to them. They finally delivered on 3pm the next day but only after spending an hour and a half on the phone to TNT to make sure that the bike was actually in the van and had not been left behind! So despite the deal looking good with a substantial discount on this years outgoing model versus the 2013 model, buying a bike from ukbikesdepot.com was a tooth grinding experience between the poor set up and the poor delivery.
