General Comments
John Grisham's The Rainmaker is arguably one of his greatest ever books. I couldn't put it down and despite a slow start Grisham keeps you hanging on his every word.

The book begins by following the fortunes of Rudy Baylor, a good kid who has just finished Law school and is searching for his elusive big break in the real world. The book may seem a little empty on plot to begin with but it is so well written that despite the lack of initial plot details, it is still an enthralling read. When the story finally gets out of first gear, you are in for one hell of a treat as the pace picks up. I won't spoil the book for you by going into the plot details except for saying this is a pulsating legal thriller of David versus Goliath proportions.

If you have seen the film, then don't let that put you off because it does not do justice to this corker of a novel. Add this fine Grisham yarn to your collection.
