A car for £53 for a week on Menorca is either a bargain or a con. The latter proved to be the case.
You do get the car for that price but you do get charged way over the top for a tank of petrol I got charged 90euro for a tank of petrol. Not only is this way way over the price charged at the service station 100 metres from the parking lot, but it is almost impossible to use up a whole tank of petrol in a week on an island 30 miles by 12. So I reckon that the whole hire ended up costing me £100 plus the real cost of petrol actually used.
For a small car in an out of season holiday destination this is a lot of money.
Plus, while the price does include collision damage waiver without excess, you have to pay the cost of breakdown rescue! And tyres, underside and windscreen are not covered.
